Giants' Daniel Jones: Strong numbers in loss

Jones completed 29 of 40 passes for 281 yards with no touchdowns and one interception and rushed four times for three yards in the Giants' 20-15 loss to the Cowboys on Thursday night.

Jones' passing yardage tally was a season high and certainly served his fantasy managers well, but it was a hollow number from a real-life sense to an extent. The embattled signal-caller focused very heavily on both rookie sensation Malik Nabers (concussion) and Wan'Dale Robinson, with 23 of his completions and 186 of his yards going to the talented duo. Nabers' absence late certainly didn't help Jones on the Giants' last-gasp drive, which culminated in an interception at the Cowboys' four-yard line following two incompletions to open the possession. Jones should have a chance of having Nabers back in the fold for a Week 5 road matchup against the Seahawks on Sunday, Oct. 6.

Cowboys' Dak Prescott: Two TD passes in win

Prescott completed 22 of 27 passes for 221 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions while adding two carries for minus-1 yard in the Cowboys' 20-15 win over the Giants on Thursday night.

It wasn't the prettiest of wins for the Cowboys, but Prescott was able to play a clean, highly efficient game while taking only one sack. The veteran signal-caller connected with seven different targets, hitting the duo of CeeDee Lamb and Jake Ferguson for seven catches apiece to lead the way. Prescott linked up with Rico Dowdle and Lamb for touchdown passes of 15 and 55 yards, respectively, in the first half, generating his second two-TD tally through the air in the last five days. Prescott and his teammates next gear up for a challenging road interconference clash with the Steelers on Sunday, Oct. 6.

Giants' Tommy DeVito: Emergency QB vs. Dallas

DeVito (coach's decision) is inactive but serving as the Giants' emergency quarterback for Thursday's game against the Cowboys, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.

As the emergency quarterback, DeVito will only see playing time Thursday if both Daniel Jones and Drew Lock were to sustain injuries that would force them off the field.

Cowboys' Trey Lance: Emergency QB vs. Giants

Lance (coach's decision) is inactive but available as the emergency third quarterback for Thursday's game against the Giants, Todd Archer of ESPN.com reports.

Lance will be the Cowboys' emergency quarterback for a fourth consecutive game. Lance will only be able to play if both Dak Prescott and Cooper Rush sustain injuries that force them to leave the game.

Chargers' Justin Herbert: Still limited at practice

Herbert (ankle) remained limited at practice Thursday.

Herbert, who was also listed as limited Wednesday, previously noted that he is "doing everything he can" to play Sunday against the Chiefs despite having aggravated his high right ankle sprain during Week 3 action, per Kris Rhim of ESPN. With the Chargers on bye in Week 5, Herbert acknowledged Wednesday that the team has had discussions about him possibly sitting out Sunday in order to rest his ankle, but the QB noted he doesn't "think that's the way we're heading." Friday's injury report will add further context regarding Herbert's Week 4 status, but chances are, he'll head into the weekend listed as questionable. Taylor Heinicke would presumably start versus Kansas City in the event Herbert ends up being deemed unavailable for Los Angeles' 4:25 ET contest.

Packers' Jordan Love: Remains limited in practice

Love (knee) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice, Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. "We'll see," head coach Matt LaFleur said, when asked about Love's status for Sunday's game against the Vikings. "We'll give him up to game time."

Love continues to work his way back from the Grade 1-to-2 MCL sprain he sustained in the Sept. 6 loss to the Eagles, and he looks to have a chance at meeting the short end of his projected 3-to-6-week recovery timeline. He's now been listed as a limited participant in six consecutive practices, and while the Packers haven't indicated that Love has experienced any setbacks with his left knee, he may need to turn in a full practice Friday to avoid being viewed as anything more than a game-time call leading up to Sunday. Malik Willis has presided over the Green Bay offense for the last two games and will stay prepared for another start under center this weekend if the Packers' franchise signal-caller isn't cleared to return to the lineup.
